How difficult is it to install
Carbon Fiber Dash Kits?
Although installing precut kits is significantly easier and less time
consuming than wrapping your vehicle, it can still be a difficult
process. We
recommend you review the installation procedures outlined to make sure
our product meets your needs. Installation difficulty depends on the
ability of the installer, the particular Carbon Fiber Dash Kit being applied and the
complexities of the pieces, areas such as digital radio surrounds can be
more difficult to apply than a door control surround. |
What is a Carbon Fiber Dash Kit finish?
This is a two-ply film, thicker than many of our finishes it is
available in our standard printed Carbon Fiber or in a Laminate version
with an embossed pattern. The Carbon Fiber Laminate film has a texture
you can see and can feel much like a genuine wood finish. In the case of
linear patterns such as our Carbon Fiber or Carbon Fiber Laminate, the
kits are designed to have the Carbon Fiber pattern "run" the same way.
What Carbon Fiber Dash Kit application tools do you recommend?
Rvinyl recommends the use of an application squeegee which will reduce air
bubbles during installation and aide in heat conforming the vinyl Carbon
Fiber Dash Kit
to your vehicle's interior trim. By
using a low friction sleeve, you will reduce the chance of scratching your
Carbon Fiber Dash Kit during application. Application solutions such as Rapid Clear will
remove any dirt or debris from your vehicle's trim. We strongly recommend the use of these
products to achieve professional results.
What makes our Carbon Fiber Dash Kits different from others?
The major advantages of vinyl
dash kits over traditional, hard polyurethane Carbon Fiber Dash Kits are that, by
nature:
(1) The material is soft and flexible allowing it to conform to the
contours and blend seamlessly into your dash.
(2) The Carbon Fiber Dash Kit can be removed without
damaging your vehicle's interior.
(3) It is a cost effective non-permanent
modification as opposed to painting the interior of your dash.
(4) It
is perfect for leased vehicles as it is a non-permanent and non-damaging to
your vehicle's dash.
The Carbon Fiber Dash Kit is a precut vinyl film, it is not a hard polyurethane, a molded, an OEM
replacement Carbon Fiber Dash Kit or a factory match kit. Given the vinyl's flexible nature
trimming may be necessary on some dash parts, detailed installation
instructions are available online. Installation Diagrams are provided
online.
Can it be cleaned?
Yes, once applied and bonded to your surface you may clean it and polish it
with such things Armor All or any type of cleaning agent that is Acetate
free. We recommend the use of Rapid Clear.
Do you have any additional pieces other than those shown in the diagram?
Unfortunately we do not, however you may use or
wrap kits to
trim and accent parts of your dash that are not included.
Do you offer Right Hand Drive Kits?
Although we
do not carry a kit specifically designed for non-U.S. models, we do offer a
mirrored version of our kits for RHD or JDM configurations.
Do you offer a warranty?
Rvinyl offers a Standard Warranty of (3 years) although kits will exceed
that up to six years. These professional grade films are guaranteed to not
fade, peel, crack, bubble or discolor when installed by a licensed
