Dash Kits are manufactured from a
professional grade, 6-year rated automotive vinyl film. Rvinyl uses a 3 mil thick,
vinyl that is available in a wide variety of high gloss colors
and finishes to complement your vehicle's interior. It is coated with a semi-permanent
pressure sensitive adhesive which allows for its application on your
vehicle's dash, but still allows you to remove the
dash kit without damaging
your car's interior..
The Vinyl film is precut to the specifications of your vehicle's make, model
and year (as listed and illustrated in the product diagram). It is designed to
accent your vehicle's dash. The
dash kit solely accents the interior; it is not
designed to fully cover the car's trim paneling.
The major advantages of vinyl
dash kits over traditional, hard polyurethane dash kits are that, by
nature:
(1) The material is soft and flexible allowing it to conform to the
contours and blend seamlessly into your dash.
(2) The dash kit can be removed without
damaging your vehicle's interior.
(3) It is a cost effective non-permanent
modification as opposed to painting the interior of your dash.
(4) It
is perfect for leased vehicles as it is a non-permanent and non-damaging to
your vehicle's dash.
The dash kit is a precut vinyl film, it is not a hard polyurethane, a molded, an OEM
replacement dash kit or a factory match kit. Given the vinyl's flexible nature
trimming may be necessary on some dash parts, detailed installation
instructions are included. Installation Diagrams are provided
online only.
Do they have a glossy finish?
Yes, all our vinyl dash trim kits have a high gloss finish except our Black (Matte) film.
Is the surface durable?
When applied correctly to the appropriate hard surface the film is very
durable and scratch resistant.
Will it fade in the sun?
No, it is coated with a UV protective layer which will last up to six years
outdoors.
Can it be cleaned?
Yes, once applied and bonded to your surface you may clean it and polish it
with such things Armor All or any type of cleaning agent that is Acetate
free.
Do you have any additional pieces other than those shown in the diagram?
Unfortunately we do not, however you may use or
universal wrap kits to
trim and accent parts of your dash that are not included.
Do you offer Right Hand Drive Kits?
Although we
do not carry a kit specifically designed for non-U.S. models, we do offer a
mirrored version of our kits for RHD or JDM configurations.
What are the vinyl dash trim kits physical properties?
Thickness of film plus adhesive: .0042" (0.010668cm)
Application temperature: 50°F to 104°F (10°C - 40°C)
Rvinyl recommends an application temperature of 70-80°F (21° -26°)
End Use temperature after application: -5°F to 194°F (-20°C - 90°C) |
