Better than Dip
Fort Lauderdale FL
I was wary at first because I did not want to sand my brand new Spyder taillights. Tried Plasti-Dip Smoke but it ended up milky and I decided to take it off three weeks later.
I used some 400 grit sandpaper and water on the lights. I put two coats of VHT Night-Shades on and that was dark enough for me, but you could tell they were smoked.
The trick is to go light on the coats so that you can decide just how dark to go. I highly recommend this product.
Very good service, excellent product, very fast shipping, Great Purchase
I was trying to black out my car, not just the tail lights. Not a huge chrome fan and my car is black. I wanted that sinister look but keep my stock parts because OEM quality is almost always the best.
I watched a lot of videos online and decided to give it a try. I started small by just doing the chrome trim pieces on my fenders. About 30 minutes prep time and 5 coats later, my side vents were exactly what I was looking for.
The following week I did the chrome window trim and the week after I did my upper and lower from grilles. The results are amazing. I did make a mistake on the chrome window trim and simply rolled up a corner, and peeled it off in one piece easily. I used three cans and about four hours total to black it all out, awesome.

2015 Ford Edge
Thousand Oaks, CA
If your not familiar the Edge has some pretty big lights! I went with a72" kit to make sure I had enough film. It was a little challenging, particularly by the fenders. Once I was done it looked great, there were a few small bubbles but, they went away in a few days. Next on the list is my tail lights!
