Tail Light Smoke Tint and Protection Kit Description: |
What is this product?
This Rvinyl Protection film is a "fusion product" that blends the worlds of
protection and tint modification into a single, model-specific pre-cut tail
light tint kit.
These urethane based protection kits bond to your taillights with optically
clear non-permanent adhesive. Designed to protect you vehicles taillights,
they can shield your expensive lights from scratches and everyday wear and
tear! Durable enough to last up to 5 years of the
harshest abuse, yet thin enough to appear as an OEM modification (17-20 mil
thick) these kits are a perfect non-permanent modification to your car's
rear lights. The non-protective tint film provides the aesthetic appeal, of
a smoked look, but not
the protection.
How do I apply this product?
Kits are pre-cut and model specific and made from a pliable urethane
adhesive backed film. Our kits apply as easily as a decal, but are
repositionable during the application process (kits become fully bonded
after 48 - 72 hours and are no longer repositionable). Convenient "placement
tabs" are included to aid in application alignment and trimmed off after
application for most kits. We offer a full line of
application tools
to aid in your tint application.
Are your lights safe with out it?
Years of outdoor exposure degrade OEM light.
Scratches and UV radiation turn turn portions of taillights yellow and milky-white over time,
leading up to a 50% degradation in foot light candle output. Protection film
prevents this, non-protective tint film however does not provide a level of
protection from significant scratches or UV radiation.
What is the difference between Tint and Protection film?
Rvinyl Protection Kits are made from an optically clear 20mil (.020") thick
clear film or a 17mil (.017") thick color film. Rvinyl Non-protective tint
film uses a transparent vinyl which is 3mil (.003")thick. These films are
not made from urethane, do not use optically clear adhesives, reduce light
transmission and provide no light protection.
Are your colored films legal on headlights for street use?
Our colored films may not be legal for
street use on primary lighting. Please check your state or local laws before
application. Our colored films do not produce a blue or red light when lit.
All non-clear films are intended for off-road show car use only.
