Black Sign Vinyl

As a general rule, a brand or business' dominant color closely aligns with its values and personality. Color carries a lot of weight in business use, so it’s important to understand both the positive and negative characteristics of the color black and the traits associated when designing logos, decals, signs and lettering in black. Black can be surprisingly mysterious. While you may often hear people refer to the term “basic black,” the color black can be quite crafty and carry with it hidden meanings or messages.

Black sign vinyl can suggest aggressiveness, power, and discipline. It can also be convey sophistication, temptation, affluence and is often used in association with high-end luxury brands. By using black in a business logo, you can communicate authority, strength, formality, and power. Black logos can also reflect negativity, conservatism, and shrewdness. When used in packaging, black can create a powerful and impressive effect, even making products seem more stylish or luxurious. Brands that use logos in black are usually secure and deep-rooted; in other words, they don’t feel a need to call a lot of attention to themselves. They may believe that their reputation speaks for them and they don’t need colors to convey their power, stability, and value. Gucci, Sony, Apple and Nike all use black in their logos to great effect.

Making Your Signs in Black Vinyl

When you want to use Black Sign Vinyl in your projects take the following tips to heart:

  • Contrast a bright color against black
  • Use gold foil for a touch of luxury and sophistication
  • Combine it with white for a bold and simple statement.
  • Think about texture and how matte or glossy black might change the feel of your sign

Black Sign Vinyl for Your Machine

No matter what type of professional or commercial vinyl cutter you own, you can be sure it will cut any of the Black Sign vinyl we sell. Listed below is a brief list of some of the more popular electronic cutting machines you can use with our vinyl:

  • Roland
  • Jaguar
  • Graphtec
  • Any other cutter/plotter

In general, standard blades can be used with most varieties of sign vinyl although we do recommend a 60 degree blade for reflective and glow-in-the-dark sign films. As always, be sure to check your down force and speed settings before cutting any film types you have not used before to ensure optimal weeding

The vinyl here is overpriced. Look for other places for vinyl. I found a seller on amazon selling a 30 foot roll of oracal film for $49 where here it would be $86. I tested out the film and it’s literally just as good. I’m definitely never buying that specific oracal film here. You gotta do your due diligence ppl!

It's a high-quality vinyl that behaves predictably with good adhesion. It's easy to weed and remove from the cutting mat without any bubbles or difficulties.
