Digitally Printed Wraps: Laminate or Not

All of our Rwraps™ Orange Camouflage 914 Series films come with a gloss laminate as the default choice. We highly recommend that you choose to have your Orange Camouflage wrap laminated but, since we're all about customization, you get the final say. Take your pick of Gloss or Matte laminates or even decide to go without. Whichever you choose, we know you're going to like the look of these high-quality, digital animal prints.

Please note that lamination increases the life of your wrap (this applies equally to gloss or matte laminates) and should always be selected for outdoor applications. Unlaminated wraps are only recommended for low traffic, indoor use.

Why Do Hunters Wear Blaze Orange?

No page featuring orange camo would be complete without acknowledging the elephant in the room: blaze orange. That's right, without safety orange or OSHA orange or any number of other almost derogatory names people have come up with this flat, bright and completely artificial orange, hunting season as we know it just wouldn't be same. And, truth be told, it would likely be a whole lot more dangerous not only for the prey but for our fellow humans as well. So, where did blaze orange originate (and we a re certain that it wasn't with plastic pumpkins used to collect candies at Halloween)?

Safety orange has its beginnings all the way back in the year 1960 when Field & Stream Magazine ran an article entitled “Hunter Orange – Your Shield For Safety” by well-known writer Frank Woolner. Unsurprisingly, it was Jack Woolner, Frank's brother and the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Game’s information officer, who spearheaded a study at Fort Devens, Mass., in 1959. In the study, they discovered that reds tended to look black in low-light conditions whereas as yellows, though highly visible, had an almost white appearance which led people to confuse them with the white tails of deer. As a result, the famous neon orange we see used in hunter vests all over the country was chosen and the rest is history.

Many non-hunters might think that neon orange would be a dead give away to prey species that they're being tracked by a big human with a gun but that's not actually the case. You see, deer actually can't see the color orange, whether it is a camouflage pattern or a solid colored vest, so it really does make it an ideal choice for safety when out in the woods.

Rwraps™ Orange Camouflage Series: Made for Makers

The popularity of our digitally printed film doesn't appear to be waning; in fact, people are constantly coming up with new and unusual applications for them. These wraps were originally designed with vehicles in mind but you can use them on any hard, non-porous surface you can imagine. No need for messy primers or additional fluids, simply clean the surface of whatever you want to wrap and apply. Use a razor to cut away any excess film and you're done.
