  • Multi-cast construction

What Is Metallic Wrap Film?

A vinyl wrap is a flexible material with adhesive on one side to help it stick to a surface. The vinyl wrap protects whatever is underneath. Contrary to what you may think, you can easily remove a vinyl wrap without damaging the surface underneath.

What Is Metallic Vinyl?

You can use vinyl wraps on a vehicle's interior or exterior. Most people use them to add color or detail to their cars, but you can also utilize them for customizing many different surfaces and items, such as personalized arts and crafts, home décor, windows, walls, instruments, electronics, appliances and organizers.

You can add vinyl wraps to all cars, SUVs and trucks or try them out on:

If you're looking to personalize any of your model toys or miscellaneous vehicle types, purchasing and installing a vinyl wrap is a great way to accomplish this. Additionally, one of the great things about vinyl wraps is that anyone can install them! You can simply buy the vinyl wrap you want and follow the installation instructions to apply it correctly.

Using vinyl wraps in your daily life can help you personalize just about anything you can think of. And if you're searching for a shiny, sleek appearance, a metallic vinyl wrap has a glossy, metallic look that will serve the right purpose. If you want to give your vehicle a bold paint job that will stand out, look into using metallic car wraps.

Why Should I Wrap My Car?

Applications for Metallic Wraps

While many people wrap their entire vehicle, you can also do certain areas of your automobile if you only want to complete a small job. The most common applications are:

  • Roof onlyUsing a wrap on just the roof brings an interesting contrast to the vehicle's original color and can work even better if you choose complementary colors.
  • Cockpit style: This wrap style will also bring a contrast to your vehicle's original color by adding accent pieces to the vehicle cockpit.
  • Hood onlyWrapping the hood of your vehicle is a great way to bring some personalization. If you're in the racecar business, using a metallic vinyl wrap would be a great way to decorate your hood. Some people like the automobile styles of years ago where the hood had its own color or pattern.
  • Bumpers only: The bumpers are the most visible — and the most abused — parts of a vehicle. Using a wrap on this area is a great way to cover any cosmetic defects. Adding color to your bumpers can also help accent your vehicle.
  • Doors onlyCar doors are constantly hit against poles, walls and anything else you may park by. Those who park next to you might also hit your car doors, creating those annoying door dings. With a vinyl wrap on your doors, you'll create a layer of protection for your vehicle while also personalizing it.
  • Fenders onlyAdding a vinyl wrap to your fenders is a great way to incorporate some subtler personalization because this area consists of smaller panels. You can add your desired customizations and the effect won't be too overwhelming.
  • Grille onlyThose who want to make the biggest customization impact on their vehicle without breaking the bank should consider wrapping the grille. You can give it some color with a pigmented metallic wrap or apply a basic chrome or metallic film to give it that bright, shiny look.
  • Rims onlyMany people's first option for vehicle customization is their rims, even if they're just buying a unique rim to go on the car. Buying new rims can become expensive depending on your style, but vinyl wrapping your rims can add just as much flair and personalization without the stress of burning up your finances.
  • Trunk onlyThe trunk is the equivalent of your hood, with the only difference being that it's in the rear. Just like the hood-only application, the trunk-only application adds an interesting personalization feature to your vehicle.
  • Tailgate onlyBecause the tailgate is mostly flat and a relatively large space, it provides the perfect place to display a vinyl wrap. Utilizing this larger area will bring out whichever color or pattern you display.

Applying a wrap to your vehicle allows you to truly make it your own. While most of the above applications only consist of one item, you can wrap multiple parts of your vehicle at a time. For instance, you can wrap the hood and trunk to match or do the rims and the grille to match. You could also have different colors in different places if you prefer a more eclectic, mixed color scheme.

I bought this to see how close it would be to my z31 factory blue and man did it knock it out of the park. This is vinyl is high quality and was very easy to work with and very forgiving. Highly recommend this stuff and I will 100% be wrapping my car with this stuff

I like the versatility of the products. I use the car wrap vinyl for a lot of my smaller projects that I cut out decals for. The outdoor rating of it keeps the color vibrant longer with minimal fading. I've attached one of the projects I did for my in-laws helmets and cut out decals for their helmets :)
