Custom Template Still WIP

by | Houston |
I ordered a custom dash kit for a Dodge Durango and was apparently the first order for this particular template. Since no diagram was available I asked what pieces came with the set. Rvinyl would not provide a list of pieces. Other dash kits have optional pieces that include steering wheel trim, door trim, etc. I was left wondering what I would get. I got two nearly identical upper & lower console kits, one with steering wheel pieces, but neither came with dash trim or door trim (the very pieces I wanted). I had to purchase extra wrap for these pieces and install manually myself. The duplicated console pieces were not of much interest so I tried a few because I had them and they look fine. I'm giving high marks for ease of installation and style, but a lesser mark for value because the dash pieces I thought should be included were not.

A Trim Kit to Die For!

by | Granite City, IL |
Truly a bargain for a custom made product. I purchased this for my wife's Charger and she was thrilled. The blue finish is very nice, nothing like it on the market. My only complaint was it took about two weeks to ship, but worth the wait.

Decent Value

The RVinyl basic kit was a good value for the amount of pieces you got. I tried out this kit for my 2016 Dodge Challenger to add a little color to the fairly plain interior.

Perhaps it's because it's the basic kit, but not all pieces were cut well enough to fit. That, and the vinyl just refused to stick to some of the textured pieces of the dash. The vinyl stuck wonderfully to flat glossy plastic however and the finish of the Matte Purple Chrome (matching a Plum Crazy Pearl exterior) was a great finish.

It was enough of a challenge that I think I will just spend the extra for a molded kit from Automaxus, but I am sure that if you use a heat gun and follow some better procedures that the flat dash kit would be worth it.

I had no issues with RVinyl as a seller, I just don't think the flat kit was the product for me. We will see how the molded kit fares in comparison to this one.

Dodge Challenger Dash Kit

Kit is nice, but it needs to be completely weeded. All the various little pieces left unremoved is really a pain in the butt trying to remove later. Also the kit doesn't include a center console piece for a 6 speed manual transmission.
