Wrap Kit Product Installation Instruction by Rvinyl.com:

Please take a moment to read through the instructions prior to application.

Rwraps Wrap Kits are designed to be applied to relatively any smooth, hard and non-porous surfaces. Some films are designed for relatively flat applications and others for extreme curves. Details are provided on each product description page which explain what each film is intended to be used for. The techniques illustrated can be used for interior applications, tinting applications and carbon fiber film applications.

This application guide focus on using our Carbon Fiber Film, specifically the Carbon Fiber Hood Series. It exemplifies the films extreme properties which will enable you to install it onto a curved fender. This is a large film application and is a difficult application, these techniques can be used on smaller significantly easier applications.  Rvinyl.com is simply using this difficult example, so that your small scale projects will be easier to install.

Rvinyl.com Preparation Guidelines:
- Ideal application temperature range is 70º to 80º F (21º to 27º C).
- Application during periods of high relative humidity is not recommended.
- Surfaces must be clean and dry prior to application.

Rwraps Wrap Kit Installation Guideline Step 1: Cleaning Guidelines
- For proper adhesion, clean all surfaces using a 2:1 mixture of water to Isopropyl alcohol, Prepsol, or cleaning solutions available at in our application section of Rvinyl.com Note: Prior to cleaning test solution in an inconspicuous area.
- Use a clean, lint-free cloth to cleanse the application area. Insure it is dry and all oils and residues have been removed prior to application.
- A good test is to see if masking tape will stick to the application surface, if it sticks then the surface is ready for application.  If it does not stick then further cleaning may be necessary.

Carbon Fiber - Draping

Rwraps Wrap Kit Installation Guideline Step 2: Draping the Film
- For complex curved surfaces, analyze the surface and break it up into three areas of application. The rule of thumb is that you always start in the middle. It is possible to use a wet application method on large wrap installations such as the hood. Please read about the Wet Application Method to see if it is suitable for your application.

For our fender example, we start with the high center point in the middle (Surface #1), then the top area (Surface #2), and finally the bottom portion (Surface #3). When positioning the vinyl over the fender, make sure it is bed-sheet tight, but too much pressure will cause it to distort.

Carbon Fiber - Squeeging the Wrap

Rwraps Wrap Kit Installation Guideline Step 3: Squeeging the Film -
Starting with Surface area #1 (upper, middle), apply horizontally from left to right about the width of a squeegee. Carefully do this, you do not want to wrinkle the film. If the film appears to not be laying correctly, gently lift it off the surface to reapply the film.  The lifting process is much easier if a wet application method is used.
