Lincoln Vehicle Wraps

The Lincoln Motor Company was  founded by the Henry Leland and son after they left Cadillac in 1919 in order to manufacture motors for the war effort during WWI. Interestingly enough, the company was named for the first president for whom father Henry had voted. When the war ended the Lelands had a modern manufacturing plant and the decision was made to manufacture a new luxury motorcar with the first Lincoln vehicle being completed in September of 1920. Shortly thereafter, in late 1921 the company found itself in dire financial straits and the company was sold to the Ford Motor Company.

Skip ahead almost a century and Lincoln is still going strong. The fabled Town Car was introduced in 1981 and by 2006 it was the largest American made car measuring nearly 18 feet (that's a whole lot of  vehicle wrap!). In 2002 the Lincoln LS (Luxury Sport) was introduced and between 2003 and 2005 the company also produced the mid-sized, luxury Lincoln Aviator SUV.  All of these advancements and the restructing of the company after the related Mercury marque was cut paved the way for the Mark LT, MKX, MKZ and redesigned Navigator. Whatever Lincoln you own, now's the time to customize and upgrade it wih a complete or partial vehicle wrap from a brand like Rwraps™ or 3M™.

How Much Vehicle Wrap Do You Need?

If you've ever wrapped a vehcile before (and we're assuming that's most of you) we're here to help you figure out how much you'll need to buy. Just use the following formula to figure out how much vinyl your Lincoln will need to get a complete wrap. Simply calculate the length of your vehicle and multiply it by three (one for each side and the roof, hood and trunk). Next, add an extra 5 to 15 feet for bumpers, rocker panels, spoilers and mistakes. The following example should help:

  • The 2017 Lincoln Continental is a whopping 201 inches in length.
  • 201 inches x 3 ~ 50 feet + 5 feet = 55 feet
  • Therefore, you would need two 60-inch by 10 yard rolls to completely wrap your Continental.

What about Partial Wraps?

You've got a lot of options when it comes to wrapping your Lincoln car or SUV. In other words, you don't have to commit to wrapping your whole Lincoln MKC from bumper to bumper. Instead, focus on individual panels to protect against specific dangers or to get that one-of-a-kind look. When you apply your Lincoln vehicle wrap one panel at a time you have complete control over how much of your car is covered saving you time and money.

Here's a look at some different options you have when it comes to applying a vinyl wrap to your car:

  • Hood — 72-96 inches
  • Roof — 72-96 inches
  • Trunk — 60-72 inches
  • Fenders — 96 inches
  • Mirrors — 12-24 inches
  • Rocker Panels — 96-120 inches
  • Chrome Deletes — 12-36 inches (per window)

Please note: Lincoln vehicle wraps are meant for application only on OEM paint jobs. They're not meant for aftermarket paint jobs that don't have OEM clear coats.
