At Rvinyl we have tried to make the installation of tail light tint kits as easy to understand as possible and, even though they are not required, we do suggest that every installer, from DIY enthusiast to pro, use the correct tools and fluids for the job. What this means for you is that you should be sure to have a squeegee with friction sleeve as well as Rapid Prep and Rapid Tac solutions at hand before you take the tints out of the sealed bag.
Rtint Smoked Films come in two different shades of smoke. The darkness of the shade is measured in a VLT (Variable Light Transmission) percentatge. This number measures the amount of light that can be transmitted through the tint naturally with no backlighting coming from a bulb. The higher the number, the the brighter the light will be that is allowed to pass through and the least amount of effective it will have on light output. The lower the number, the darker your light will appear. It works opposite of window tint VLT as you are trying to make the light appear darker on the outside rather than from the inside. Rtint® Smoke film, which is by far our most popular shade, will smoke your lights by about 38% while still allowing 62% of light to enter the housing. It will not block 38% of backlighting coming from a bulb, but will certainly have an affect on light output.

Pretty good quality vinyl wrap for my Kia Stinger tail lights. Rapid Tac is a must. Originally I didn't plan to give 5 stars because the wrap provided was inadequate in length. This left a 1 inch gap in my tail light bar in the middle. However after talking to the company, they have graciously offered a refund on their product and so I will give 5 stars because of the overall quality of the product and appearance aside from the gap, and for their great customer service

I was only able to use smaller portions of the precut taillight. The larger portion were cut in a way that it didn't consider the curve of the taillight. There was no stretching that would allow for this to fit at all. Very disappointing. I would not recommend getting the precut and would go with the roll of tint where there is excess to work with. Ended up having to trash the larger portion of precut. What a waste of money.
very difficult to put on i had to get professional help
If you’re an amateur like me this ain’t the way to go. Get sheets big enough to cover the area you want to tint. These pieces are cut to EXACT dimensions so there’s no room for error. I ruined my first piece trying to stretch it around the complex bends with a heat gun (as was recommended). The quality of the material is really nice. Just not a job for a DIYer. Also, these pieces DO NOT cover the whole taillight.
Well my inexperience didn’t help but i got it as best i could. I wouldn’t blame the material or cut that was fine to work with. Hard to get the curves and angles to sit flush without getting lines. Mostly no bubbles at all.
Installation took a little longer than expected (to make sure it was perfect) but definitely still a diy project with the ease of Rviynls kit. Highly recommend getting the sprays and squeegee with the tint! A local shop wanted $125 per headlight/ tail light so for less than the cost of one light I was able to do both headlights and tail lights, so when it comes to value ordering from Rviynl is a no brainer. Without a doubt I’ll be ordering another kit for my truck! Don’t hesitate and order your kit to get your ride looking like a whole new vehicle!
Product is very easy to work with and has a nice finish to it. It's bright and full in color as well.
I think it looks good. The blackout is dark and the reverse lights were cut by hand.

I am really impressed with the quality of the product! The tint film is durable and gives my car a sleek, modern look that I absolutely love.
However, I will say that the installation process can be a bit time-consuming. I highly recommend watching the YouTube video has helpful hints and tips. Once you get the hang of it, though, the process becomes much easier.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend these tail light tints to other Mercedes owners looking to upgrade the look of their car. Just be prepared to spend a little extra time on the installation process.
Be thing is that its pre cut so it lines up perfect. Also when you peel it (during the install i had to peel a little and reapply) no residue is left behind. But great look and the film is shiny so it doesn't look like that plastidip tint. Also its a lighter tint so all the OEM details can still be seen. All in all I'm very happy with the quality glossy non stick light tinted product!

RVinyl "Smoke" product installed on a 2014 Audi S5 recently. Headlights and tail-lights wrapped with RVinyl as a DIY garage project.*** I've included 3 pictures of headlights before RVinyl was applied and those pics are prefixed with "PRE"***
Got this tail light film for a 2015 cayman and its unfortunately impossible to apply, just due to the design of the taillight. No matter what company or material I don't see this working. Ive been wrapping cars and doing tint for over 10 years and didn't feel confident enough so I took it to a professional shop and they told me it can't be done. I then tried myself and even after misting, stretching, heating, nothing will get it on perfectly unless you cut and trim near the chrome portion/ center light but then it'll look terrible. I was able to salvage what I could and made something work out of it, so not a total loss. Unfortunately it's a failed product.
Hi everyone for my first time installing this on my car was great. I did mess up a little bit but just a little. The product is easy to use if you have the right tools. This is way I'm ordering it a again I like it.
I love the look on my 6-Series, the blackout is dark though so keep that in mind. I wish it was easier to install, but given the curves I should've thought of that. In the end I had to contact customer service for help and they send a replacement. Thanks Rvinyl!
Taillights are tricky and have some defects but I’m pleased.
Overall it was good but they miss one piece for my mustang gt 22 Now I have to guy and buy whole new one and cut myself

The smoked tail light tint is the perfect shade. It is not too dark at all, that is why I went with this over the blackout tint. My order came with clean instructions on how to make application easy DIY. My specific model was a little difficult because of the long curved tail light. However, the small flat tail light was very easy to install. Flat surfaces are very easy to do. The curve took a lot more time and stretching/heat to have it adhere to the curves. I installed this tail light tint kit on my Kia Stinger myself, being my first time working with any kind of tint film. The product is very easy to work with and very forgiving. A heat gun is a very important tool in this installation process. The product provides a clean and unique look for an affordable price. I highly recommend this kit.
