Avery Dennison® PC500 Economy Film

Cost-effective, high-gloss calendered sign vinyl for short-term promotional graphics, indoor signage, and craft projects.

Economy Sign Vinyl Overview

Avery Dennison PC500 is a 3.0 mil monomeric calendered vinyl designed specifically for short-to-medium term applications. It offers excellent cutting and weeding characteristics, making it the perfect budget-friendly choice for high-volume promotional signage, point-of-purchase displays, and indoor architectural graphics where long-term outdoor durability is not required.

Best Uses for PC500

Storefront Windows

Ideal for temporary sales promotions, seasonal window graphics, and retail hours.

Trade Show Displays

Perfect for exhibition booths, temporary event signage, and promotional banners.

Indoor Signage

Great for wayfinding, office door lettering, and interior wall decals on smooth surfaces.

Craft Projects

Highly compatible with desktop craft cutters like Cricut and Silhouette for DIY projects.

Indoor vs Outdoor Applications

PC500 is formulated primarily for indoor use where it can last indefinitely. When used outdoors, its lifespan is limited to 3-4 years on vertical surfaces, making it best suited for temporary outdoor campaigns.

  • Interior glass partitions
  • Trade show panels
  • Point-of-purchase displays

Installation Guide

Clean the Surface

Wipe the application area with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol. PC500 has a permanent adhesive, but it requires a perfectly clean, dry surface to bond correctly.

Cut and Weed

Cut your design using a standard 45° blade. The 3.0 mil thickness makes weeding PC500 very straightforward. Remove all negative space vinyl from the kraft liner.

Apply Transfer Tape

Apply a medium-tack application tape over the weeded graphic. Squeegee firmly to ensure the tape grabs the vinyl securely off the release liner.

Squeegee and Peel

Position the graphic and use a hard squeegee to apply it from the center out. Pull the transfer tape back flat against itself at a 180° angle to leave the vinyl on the surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between PC500 and HP750?

PC500 is a monomeric calendered film designed for short-term/indoor economy use (up to 4 years). HP750 is a polymeric calendered film designed for high-performance, medium-to-long term outdoor use (up to 6 years) with better dimensional stability and less shrinkage over time.

Can I use Avery PC500 in my Cricut or Silhouette?

Yes. PC500 is an excellent, cost-effective choice for desktop craft cutters. It cuts cleanly and weeds easily, making it perfect for custom tumblers, indoor wall quotes, and temporary event signage.

Is PC500 printable?

No, PC500 is an opaque, solid-color sign vinyl designed for plotter cutting. It is not top-coated to accept solvent, latex, or UV inkjet inks.

Can I wrap a car with PC500?

No. PC500 is a monomeric film that will shrink and fail if stretched over vehicle curves. It can be used for flat, short-term vehicle lettering (like a temporary parade banner or promotional door decal), but never for a wrap.
