How to Install Jeep Pillar Covers
Clean the pillar surface
Wash the pillar area with soap and water. Remove any wax, grease or residue with isopropyl alcohol. The surface must be completely clean and dry before you start.
Measure and confirm fit
Check that the kit matches your year and model. Lay the pieces out before removing any backing to confirm coverage.
Peel and position
Remove the backing from the first piece. Position it carefully before pressing down. Pillar covers are forgiving but alignment matters.
Squeegee from center out
Use a soft squeegee or credit card to press the cover from the center toward the edges. Work out any air bubbles as you go.
Trim any overhang
Use a sharp razor blade to trim any edges that extend past the pillar. Cut along the body line for a clean result.
Apply heat to edges
Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low to warm the edges and help them conform to any curves or contours.
Inspect and press final edges
Run your finger along all edges to confirm full adhesion. Press down any areas that feel loose and apply heat if needed.
Tools needed: Isopropyl alcohol, microfiber cloth, squeegee or credit card, heat gun or hair dryer, sharp razor blade. All available in the Rvinyl install tools collection.
Year and Model Fit Matters
Jeep pillar covers are cut by year and model. A Wrangler set will not fit a Grand Cherokee. Select your exact year and model before ordering.
Rvinyl organizes all pillar cover kits by year and model. Use the vehicle selector on the collection page to find kits that are confirmed to fit your specific Jeep. If you are unsure, contact Rvinyl before ordering.

Jeep Pillar Cover FAQs
What are Jeep pillar covers?
Jeep pillar covers are precut trim pieces that attach to the B-pillar, C-pillar and sometimes D-pillar of your vehicle. They cover faded, peeling or plain factory trim and give the exterior a cleaner, more finished look. Each kit is cut for a specific Jeep year and model.
What is the B-pillar on a Jeep?
The B-pillar is the vertical support between the front and rear doors on your Jeep. It is the most visible pillar from the side and is the most common area for pillar cover installs. On four-door vehicles, the C-pillar is behind the rear door.
Do Jeep pillar covers damage the paint?
No. Jeep pillar covers use a pressure-sensitive adhesive that bonds to the trim surface, not the painted body. When removed, they do not leave adhesive residue on the paint. They are designed for the trim panels, not the body.
How long does it take to install Jeep pillar covers?
Most Jeep pillar cover installs take 30 to 60 minutes. The process involves cleaning the surface, peeling the backing, positioning the cover and pressing it into place. No special tools are required.
Can I remove Jeep pillar covers after installing them?
Yes. Jeep pillar covers can be removed by peeling them back slowly. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the adhesive before removal. This makes the process easier and reduces the chance of tearing the cover.
What finishes are available for Jeep pillar covers?
Rvinyl offers Jeep pillar covers in gloss black, matte black, carbon fiber, chrome and brushed aluminum. Gloss black is the top finish for Wrangler and Grand Cherokee owners.
Do I need to select my exact Jeep year and model?
Yes. Jeep pillar covers are cut for a specific year and model. A kit for one Jeep model will not fit another. Always select your exact year and model before ordering to ensure the correct fit.
Can Jeep pillar covers cover faded trim?
Yes. That is one of the most common reasons Jeep owners install pillar covers. Faded, chalky or peeling factory trim is covered completely by the new pillar cover, restoring a clean appearance without replacing the trim panel.
