The Honda CR-Z was a sport compact hybrid electric car made by Honda and marketed as a sport hybrid coupe. It's name was intended to recall the break-out success of the fable CR-X of the early 90s but with a view to the eco-conscious. The CR-Z combined a hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain with more traditional sports car characteristics such as front buck seating and a standard 6-speed manual transmission. In the U.S., the CR-Z is one of the least polluting vehicles available and is rated as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV) as defined by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
