Choose Your VLT Shade
VLT (Visible Light Transmission) is the percentage of light that passes through the film. Lower VLT means darker tint. The chart below shows how each shade looks on a Tundra CrewMax and what heat rejection you can expect.
5% VLT
Maximum privacy. Near-opaque from outside. Check local laws before ordering.
15% VLT
High privacy, excellent heat rejection. Popular for rear windows in warm climates.
20% VLT
The sweet spot for Tundra owners. Great privacy without sacrificing night visibility.
35% VLT
Balanced look. Legal for front doors in most states. Good UV and heat protection.
50% VLT
Subtle tint. Maximum visibility. Blocks UV and reduces heat while staying nearly clear.
What Windows Does the Kit Cover?
Each Rvinyl kit is modular — choose exactly which windows to tint and at what VLT. Mix and match shades across zones to meet your state’s tint laws while maximizing comfort and privacy on every haul.
-
Windshield Visor Strip
A narrow strip across the top of the front windshield. Reduces sun glare on long drives without obstructing forward visibility. Available in 5% or 15% VLT.
-
Front Door Windows
Driver and passenger windows. Most states require 35% or higher VLT for front doors. Verify your local laws before ordering.
-
Rear Door Windows
Included in CrewMax and Double Cab kits. The rear door glass dimensions differ between cab styles — confirm your cab configuration before ordering.
-
Rear Windshield
Precut to fit the exact shape of your specific Tundra generation. The rear windshield has a defroster grid — apply film carefully around the defroster lines for a clean finish.
How Hard Is It to Tint a Tundra?
The Toyota Tundra is rated beginner difficulty. The large, relatively flat door glass is approachable for first-time wrappers. The rear windshield has a defroster grid that requires careful application. Most owners complete the full install in 2–3 hours. The precut pieces eliminate all measuring and trimming — no cutting, no guesswork, just patience and a clean workspace.
Clean the Glass
Wash all windows with a lint-free cloth and glass cleaner. Remove all dust, oils, and residue. A clean surface is the single most important factor in a bubble-free install.
Wet the Window
Spray the inside of the glass with a slip solution. The Tundra’s large, flat door glass allows the film to slide easily into position for precise alignment.
Apply the Precut Film
Peel the liner, place the precut piece on the wet glass, and align it to the edges. The precut shape fits the Tundra’s exact window dimensions — no trimming required.
Squeegee Out Moisture
Use a hard card or squeegee to push out water and air bubbles from the center outward. Work methodically around the defroster grid on the rear windshield.
Cure & Enjoy
Allow 3–5 days for the film to fully cure. Avoid rolling windows down during this period. Small haze or bubbles will disappear as the film dries.

Window Tint Law Disclaimer: Window tint laws vary by state and jurisdiction. The legal VLT percentage for front door windows, rear windows, and windshields differs in every state. It is your responsibility to verify your state’s specific tint laws before ordering. Rvinyl is not responsible for compliance with local, state, or federal window tint regulations. Always check your state’s DMV or law enforcement guidelines before installation.
