I'm looking for something to cover the lens of an outdoor spotlight that contains a high pressure sodium bulb, but I need it to be temporary. Is this easily removed?
April 9, 2020 9:48 PM
Great question. We have never used this to "tint" the lens of a high pressure sodium bulb. The main concern we would have is if the bulb emits a lot of heat. The lens protects the bulb, but the tint could block some of this heat from escaping. If the lens is cool to the touch, then it most likely would not be an issue. This film is removable. The longer it stays applied the more difficult it is to remove, but it is possible to remove it. Think of it as semi-permanent. It will stay on without issue when properly applied but, can be removed if desired.

How well does this apply to cold-rolled stainless steel? Would this hold up to outside weather, direct sun, heat fluctuations, and sustained winds? Thank you.

CTruckInLuck, This would apply using a wet application method with a slip solution like Rapid Tac. There are special films for stainless steel, but they are only white and designed for digital printing. Although rated for outdoor use, exposure that you are referring to will most likely reduce the life expectancy of the film particularly for vertical applications assuming you are applying this to a side of a tanker. I would either order a small piece for testing or let us know more details about your project. We would also love to see it if you move forward. #RVINYL
