Genesis is a relatively new luxury brand that debuted in 2015 as the upscale spinoff of Hyundai. Like the Lexus and Inifiniti brands before it, it has set its sets on the likes of BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz. The larger G80 and G90 sedans are too anonymous to truly enter the big leagues, but they do offer good value compared with those German luxury sedans. On the other hand, the newer and smaller G70 is a hugely impressive sports sedan that delivers sharp handling and performance. New luxury SUVs will join the Genesis family soon, including the GV70 and GV80, and rumors persist about a flagship coupe. One can only hope, however, that Genesis departs from the alphanumeric designations that sem to clog the luc-perfromance space as many of these combinations seem awfully similar to Infiniti's G-Series trinomials.
