Your Guide to Rwraps™ Matte Chrome Wraps

Your Guide to Rwraps™ Matte Chrome Wraps

When it comes to purchasing a vehicle, you find yourself in two situations. One, you can fully customize your vehicle and receive it directly from the factory. You get all the interior features and exterior designs that you want. Two, you limit yourself to the availability of the dealership. If they only have certain colors in stock or models with fewer features, you have to decide which is more important to you. You find yourself having to settle for a vehicle that may not be entirely what you want.

What if there was a way for you to customize your vehicle to match your personality after it leaves the dealer?

When it comes to customizing your vehicle, you have two areas where you can truly make your vehicle unique. You have the interior section with its seat material and electronics on the dashboard. You can customize the screen, seat fabric and add other features such as subwoofers or extra bass. You can also choose to refinish the exterior of your vehicle. You may want to focus on paint, wheels, rims, hubcaps, bumpers, mirrors and other aspects.

Both of these methods seem expensive and may require a hefty investment to complete, but what if, instead of settling for a vehicle you don't want, you settle for one that has the interior components you want and worry about the exterior later?

Vehicle wraps allow you to alter the exterior of your vehicle with relative ease at an affordable price. You can reassuredly settle for a vehicle that may not have the color you want, knowing that you can easily apply a vehicle wrap over the top.

What Are Vehicle Wraps?

If you only have the basic knowledge of vehicles and some of the terminology associated with them, the term vehicle wrap may confuse you at first. In simple terms, a vehicle wrap is a giant peel-n-stick that you adhere to the surface of your vehicle. They usually contain either a solid color or a graphic of some kind that you apply directly to a painted surface of your vehicle. These surfaces can be bumpers, doors, mirrors, trunks and hoods. Most wraps are vinyl material.

Vehicle wraps offer an easy and relatively inexpensive alternative to having your car painted. Not only that, but these wraps are removable. If you find that the color you've chosen doesn't match what you had in mind, you can easily remove the wrap without damaging the surface underneath. Simply peel the old wrap off and apply the new one as directed.

Some vehicle wrap companies provide the opportunity to create custom wraps, which is ideal for business owners. You can advertise your company on the side of your vehicle with an easy and convenient wrap. You can also find some that will cover unused windows, so the whole side of your business vehicle is advertising.

Benefits Of a Vehicle Wrap

Benefits Of a Vehicle Wrap

Vehicle wraps offer more than just a fun and exciting way to customize the look of your car. They provide you with an array of great benefits that keep you happy and your car protected. Let's go through some of these benefits:

  1. Wraps protect your vehicle's original paint job. The wrap takes a majority of the damage, scratches and other accidents that might befall your vehicle. Wraps are 100% removable, and you can easily replace them as you see fit. Have a bad scratch alongside the left door? Peel it off and add a brand-new wrap.
  2. Wraps allow you to freely choose between your vehicle's original color and something entirely new.
  3. When you decide to trade in or sell your vehicle, your paint will be in almost the same condition as it was when you originally bought it. The quality of the original paint can increase the resale value of your vehicle. Paint touchups suggest damage of some kind was done to the exterior. Wraps prevent that from happening.
  4. The cost of applying a wrap is significantly lower than a full custom paint job.
  5. There are many more different wrap colors, finishes and styles to choose from than paints. You can create a matte red finish or a lime-green semi-gloss finish. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

In general, most benefits stem from the fact that the wraps protect the surface of your vehicle from immediate damage. Some vehicle manufacturers, such as Tesla, tend to apply only a thin layer of original paint in the factory. These surfaces chip and scratch very easily. You should consider protecting your paint job, especially for more expensive vehicles.

Rwraps™ Matte Chrome Vinyl Wraps

If you've been dreaming of getting the look of Avery or Arlon Automotive Chrome film but just don't have pockets deep enough for it, you'll be happy to know that there's a great alternative. Rwraps™ Matte Chrome vinyl wraps give you the supple look of chrome with a satin finish and are available in a variety of bold colors. Choose from seven great colors of Matte Chrome to wrap just about anything you can think of with this do-it-yourself-friendly vinyl film. Please be aware, however, that Rwraps™ Matte Chrome films have a lifespan of only six months which makes them ideal for use in promotional wraps.

Color Options

You can purchase Rwraps™ Matte Chrome Vinyl wraps in an assortment of traditional colors. All colors come with a satin finish on all surfaces. You'll notice that your colors will have a velvety and shiny appearance when they catch the light.

Here are some of the available colors to choose from:

  • Blue
  • Bronze
  • Green
  • Pink Rose
  • Purple
  • Red
  • Teal

When most people purchase a vinyl wrap, they usually choose one single color to cover the entirety of their vehicle. If you want a red vehicle, you only buy the red wrap. However, if you're truly feeling adventurous and wish to let your creativity run free, why stop with just one color? You are more than welcome to mix and match the colors as you see fit. If you want a green car body with red accents for the holidays, you can easily achieve those results. Simply buy the two colors you need in the amount you need and apply as normal.

Matte Chrome Colors

No matter which colors you choose or how you combine them, you'll have the most eye-popping vehicle on the streets.

Size Options

Rwraps™ come in several different lengths so you'll always have enough to cover whatever surface you want without having too much leftover. If you will be spending time driving on dirt or gravel roads or areas prone to heavy snowfall and rain, you should consider buying extra, so you always have some to replace any damaged or torn pieces.

You can purchase the vinyl wraps in 12", 24" and 60" widths, up to 10 yards long. These sizes guarantee you'll have enough to cover your average-sized vehicle. All of the Rwraps™ matte chrome vinyl wraps come with a 3 millimeter (mm) thickness to offer the best protection for your vehicle. Not only will you have a stylish vehicle to drive around, but you'll also have some extra protection to help with scratches and other minor damages.

Functionality and Uses3

Functionality and Uses

One awesome feature that makes Rwraps™ vinyl a must-have wrap is its functionality. You can use it on almost any surface you wish to obtain the same results. You can use them on a wide variety of object faces and surfaces, both interior and exterior. While the intended purpose of the Rwraps™ was for vehicles, that doesn't mean you have to use them that way.

  • Vehicle exteriors — SUVs, cars and trucks
  • Vehicle interiors — dashboards and consoles
  • Motorcycle, bikes and ATV
  • Laptops
  • Phones
  • Speakers
  • Boxes
  • E-readers
  • Tablets
  • Architectural and interior decorating

As long as you apply it directly to a hard, non-porous surface, you can install it on almost anything you want. Create a whole custom look based on one color. Style your car and accessories with the same vinyl wrap and create your statement.

Installation

Rwraps™ vinyl wraps have never been easier to install. No liquids or adhesives are necessary to achieve a smooth and bubble-free finish. Rwraps™ wraps are pressure-activated and heat-sensitive.

Before applying, you should always prepare your surface. You will want to be sure that the surface is free of any debris and particles that could cause the seal to not be as durable or leave rough patches along the surface. Once you are satisfied with the cleanliness of the surface, apply the wrap, heat and squeegee on. You'll want to let the air-release adhesives work their magic to ensure a tight fit with no air bubbles.

Keep in mind that vinyl wraps are not meant to hide or fix any surface damage that already exists. If your vehicle has rust or other external damage, such as chipped paint or a dented shell, you should have these issues fixed before applying the wrap.

Professional Installation or DIY

This option is entirely up to you. Rwraps™ are easy enough to install that you could adhere them on your own with guided instructions. The heat-sensitive, vacuum seal makes your job less stressful as it takes away the fear of bubbles and other complications. Be wary that once you've applied the wrap before sealing, it will not slide, so you will have to peel the wrap off and reapply.

Of course, if you worry that you won't be able to correctly adhere the wrap to whatever surface you're working with, you can always seek out a professional installer to help. They will know exactly how to apply the wrap and ensure it is done correctly the first time.

Durability

Rwraps™ can last anywhere from six months to almost three years. The length of time will vary drastically depending on the amount of maintenance and care. If you leave the wrap exposed to the elements and go through normal wear-and-tear, then you may have a little longer lifespan. If you are hard on your vehicle and constantly drive through gravel and dirt, it might barely last to six months. The wraps lifespan is subjective and many variables affect the duration.

Rwraps™ do come with a 3mm thickness that is at least 1mm thicker than other wraps on the market. The extra thickness helps protect against slightly deeper scratches. If you want a wrap that's the most durable, then Rwraps™ Matte Chrome Vinyl wraps are the best option.

Great Price and Value

When you buy Rwraps™ Matte Chrome vinyl you're not just getting a great price but incredible value too. Because we cater to both pros and DIY installers, all of our Matte Chrome wraps are self-adhesive and feature pressure-activated, heat-sensitive glues with air-release channels so you get bubble-free results without needing to use noxious fluids. Just clean the hard, non-porous surface you want to wrap, use some heat and squeegee it on. And, because you get your pick of three widths and sheets of up to ten yards in length, you never have to buy more than you need.

I bought a qty of 5 2ft x 5ft lengths to do graphics on a quarter midget race car. (Needed to be cut in a vinyl cutter] First off, if kinked this film discolors leaving a visible mark that cannot be removed. One of the pieces had a clear kink acrossed the film when onrolled from the box. Luckily I was able to make my cuts around this and didn't have to waste the entire piece. I think this should have been noticed before shipping it out to me. Second issue is with the air channels. Air channels seal up with very minimal pressure trapping air under the film. I have used film that had much better air egress. The film looks nice on the car but was much more difficult to work with than others I have used in the past.
